Todor Batkov-son was summoned for questioning by the police for driving an unregistered forklift with which he destroyed fences on the border with Greece. The man, 31 years old, arrived in front of the Regional Administration, supported by about 30 sympathizers. After leaving the police station, Batkov-son said that no questioning took place, as he had invoked his right to be questioned in the presence of a lawyer, who was engaged today and received a new summons for next Tuesday.

Batkov-son stated to journalists that he had not committed a crime. "Instead of the state institutions standing behind me after I tried to stop this mockery, which has been carried out by the Greeks for 30 years, the state activated the repressive apparatus against me," he added.

Todor Batkov-sin was stopped by police on Sunday at the entrance to Smolyan after destroying the concrete fence of the Rudozem - Xanthi border checkpoint. A few hours later, he was served with a summons to give evidence to the police, and the forklift was seized. Batkov-sin said that his actions were not for personal gain, but to protect the rights of Rhodope residents.
