The CITUB continues to insist on a legislative change in the way traders announce the prices of goods, said the president of the trade union organization Plamen Dimitrov, quoted by bTV.

The idea is that for every product in the store, in addition to the seller's price, the manufacturer/importer's price should also be visible.

"Someone should explain how mineral water from 28 cents at the manufacturer becomes 1.20 leva. the store and how many resellers it went through to get the price like that", Dimitrov also said.

He pointed out that the union has been monitoring prices for years and making similar observations, but now this will happen more often, as in addition to the main 20 goods, three main products will be added - mineral water, coffee and snacks.

The reason is that they are particularly sensitive products that have not been monitored purposefully.

"It is clearly visible that there is a trend towards increasing prices. Only systematic actions and coordination between state institutions, employers and unions can stop it", said Plamen Dimitrov.

According to the president of the Confederation of Bulgarian Entrepreneurs and Trade Unions, business is responsible for the prices of essential goods and commented on the latest data from the National Revenue Agency.

"The latest data from the National Revenue Agency show that speculation continues, which can be regulated", he said.

Regarding the revenue agency's data on a 40% increase in prices, he pointed out that this applies only to a few regions in the country.

"There are no such increases everywhere, but it is a sign of a trend", noted Dimitrov.
