A car crashed into a playground near block 38 in the “Hristo Smirnenski” district in Sofia.
This was announced by the mayor of the “Slatina” district Georgi Iliev on his Facebook profile.
Last night, at around 10:30 p.m., a VW Transporter crashed into a playground after a police chase in the neighborhood and caused damage to three other vehicles.
The perpetrator has been detained and his first test was 2.7 per mille, a blood test is pending.
He is known to the police and has had previous such incidents.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated and the most likely outcome of the trial will be confiscation of the vehicle and effective punishment (prison).
"It is a true miracle that no one was injured, especially since residents there told me that 10 minutes before the incident, there were two families there and the children were playing on the playground. Our team is currently there clearing the playground. "We will assess the damage and demand legally possible compensation," the mayor emphasized.
