Simov: Bulgaria's position against sending troops to Ukraine did not fall from the sky. That's why the BSP participates in power

"The alternative was to watch how the right-wing is arranging itself in yet another political "Kama Sutra" - and then the decisions would have been completely different," the journalist commented

"In recent months, political exercises and speculations have become more frequent in the public space with the question: "Why is the BSP participating in power?". The answer is clear – because only through participation can principled positions and the national interest be defended. Bulgaria's position against sending troops to Ukraine did not fall from the sky." This was commented on "Facebook" by journalist Alexander Simov, quoted by the BSP press center.

"The alternative was to watch how the right-wing is arranging itself in yet another political "Kama Sutra" – and then the decisions would have been completely different", he commented.

Simov emphasized that the BSP has paid a political price for its participation in power, but it is precisely this that guarantees that a Bulgarian soldier will not set foot on Ukrainian territory.

The statement comes against the backdrop of the official position expressed by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov that Bulgaria will not send troops to Ukraine.
