The Turkish authorities detained a prospective student who tried to cheat on an entrance exam on 8 June, using artificial intelligence (AI), reported NOVA.

The youth used a home-made device that was connected to a special program that helped him answer the exam questions.

The police state that the student candidate was suspected of cheating because he “was behaving unusually in the hall where the exam was held”. In addition to him, the law enforcement authorities detained another man who helped him copy. Both are in custody awaiting trial.

The device used for the scam is so unique that Turkish police recorded a special video demonstrating it. A camera disguised as a shirt button scans the exam question. Using a router hidden in the sole of the shoe – it is sent to an artificial intelligence program that returns the correct answer via a wireless earpiece.
