The famous English actor Sir Ian McKellen was taken to hospital after he fell off the stage in a central London theatre, BNR reported .
The 85-year-old star of “Lord of the Rings” participated in a battle scene during a production of the first two parts of Shakespeare's play “Henry the Fourth”. Witnesses told the media that he lost his balance on the edge of the stage and fell from quite a height. As his microphone was still on, the audience heard him screaming for help and in pain.
The theater staff immediately came to help, brought a stretcher and instructed the audience to leave the hall. The audience was later informed that the show would not go ahead and that people would be refunded. By this time an ambulance had arrived and taken Ian McKellen to hospital.
