The American state of Louisiana has ordered that the Ten Commandments of God be displayed in all classrooms of state schools, BTA reported.
A local law decrees that the Ten Commandments must be on posters that are large enough – 35.5 by 20 centimeters - to be easy to read. They will be placed from kindergartens to universities.
The bill was drafted by representatives of the Republican Party, which holds a two-thirds majority of seats in both houses of the Louisiana Legislature. The posters will be funded through donations and no government funds will be used for them.
According to non-governmental organizations, the new law violates the rule of separation of church and state and is a blatant violation of the constitution.
Louisiana is the first and only state with such a law.
