Traditionally, with the emergence of a new political entity, the old projects begin to feel uncomfortable, feeling that they will have to share power and money. Therefore, a large part of the struggle of the status quo, as well as a number of small parliamentary parties, is to prevent new parties and individuals from entering the legislative, and subsequently the executive branch. The resources of the political table are limited and each new consumer practically eats up the subsidies, salaries, unaccounted money and privileges of the previous consumers.

That is why the struggle today is traditionally focused not on ideas and programs, but on personal attacks, insults, scandals and compromising materials.

Of course, the goal of this struggle is not to implement specific party programs and ideas, but a completely prosaic one - to preserve the benefits and not allow a new party to the state table. In the name of this goal, all kinds of black PR methods are used, to the point of completely turning the dear electorate away from politics. The percentage of non-voters is increasing more and more precisely for this reason - the same people, the same meaningless debates and scandals and nothing different in terms of actions. A wave of electoral influx to the ballot boxes occurs only when something new and different appears. Of course, there is no guarantee that it will be different, but people are optimistic – they constantly try, convinced that somewhere there will be a savior who will pull them and the state out of the swamp.

Of course, the electorate and politicians are similar. The electorate prefers the yellow card, scandal, compromise, shouts and scandals.

And not the expert and intelligent debate on programs and ideas for governance. Accordingly, the electorate is more inclined to bet on some famous athlete, singer, influencer than on proven professionals who are not attractive to the crowd. And the parties put such people on the lists to attract the electorate. Of course, in parliament it turns out that these people are good for nothing and are just button pushers, but the trouble has already come. Bulgarians, just like the ancient Romans, want the spectacle. But as long as we want spectacle and a circus, not programs and personalities, we will get the same thing over and over again.

I wish a normal leader would enter politics. Someone with education who will not shout and insult from the rostrum of the National Assembly, nor will he throw vulgar words out of place.

Someone who will debate bills and decisions, and will not show pictures and play clips to justify his thesis why his fellow MPs from a party did not get along. Or get trampled on television and call his electorate sheep, idlers and unfortunates.

That is exactly why it is good to have new parties and projects, relying on people who are intelligent and educated. Without having too high expectations for salvation, but a step in the right direction is the normalization of politics. And a transition from the circus level to the art of governance and diplomacy.
