A scandal broke out in Turkey after the defeat against Bulgaria

Goalkeeper Berke Özer left the national team camp without permission after the match with our

The Turkish Football Federation announced that goalkeeper Berke Özer left the national team camp without permission after the match with Bulgaria, which the Turks won 6:1, Topsport reported.

"The responsibility and value of wearing the national team jersey are of paramount importance. Our national team is a single entity that represents the honor of the country, regardless of individual individuals. In this regard, discipline, respect and team spirit are our most basic principles, which we will never give up. "At a time when unity and solidarity in the team are at their peak, such behavior is unacceptable," the federation said.

Yözer, on the other hand, used his Instagram to announce that he did not leave the camp without permission and justified himself with an injury.

The guard was not in the group for the match against Bulgaria, which angered him. However, his departure could have major consequences. In addition to not being called up to the national team, Özer will be referred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Committee for his failure to participate in an international match.

"Players who, without valid reason, do not participate in an official international match may be suspended from participating in a competition for between two months and a year", FIFA regulations state.

If Özer receives this punishment and the Turkish Football Federation informs FIFA, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee will decide whether the punishment will be international.
