Bulgarian Alexandra Nacheva took eighth place in the triple jump at the World Indoor Championships in Torun (Poland), BTA reported.

Nacheva registered a personal best for the year with 14.05, after being out of the sport for almost two years due to a serious injury.

„I'm still shaking, I'm very happy. I achieved what I came here for. I still can't realize it. I'm very happy that I managed to secure such a first attempt and made it to the final eight and after that everything was risk, risk, risk. I saw my potential in the last two attempts, I am very happy, then we will watch them on tape", she said after the competition.

"The competition was led by my two coaches - Stoyko Tsonov and Georgi Pomashki. In the last ten days we were preparing in Athens, where Georgi Pomashki's group is training. We decided to make a psychological attack on the other competitors, because when Georgi Pomashki leads the competition, it inspires respect. And now it has paid off. I really want to thank both of them - my coach Stoyko Tsonov for the preparation and Georgi Pomashki for the competition. Now I am looking at a medal at the European Championships in Birmingham in the summer. Last time I came fourth, and in the last attempt they moved me from third place, which really angered me", she added.

"Here I am second among the European competitors after Ivana Španović, which gives me confidence to attack the medals at the European Championships in August. We haven't talked yet about how the summer preparations will go, but the European Championships are in August, we'll see," Nacheva added.

"Tomorrow I'll keep my fingers crossed for the men's long jump final, where Bozhidar Saraboyukov will compete. I want to congratulate the other three from the Bulgarian team, who are now competing in Torun. This is still a world championship and we should applaud them for what they did. Special thanks to the Bulgarian Athletics Federation and President Georgi Pavlov. There's nothing we've asked for that hasn't happened and this is what's giving results right away,“ the athlete concluded.
