The elite Portuguese Estrela Amadora attracted the former youth national team of Bulgaria - Atanas Chernev, Topsport reported. The central defender's contract is for one season.
In mid-June, the defender broke up with Botev (Plovdiv) due to unpaid salaries.
"Hello, Estrela fans! I am very happy to be here and I can't wait to feel your support", Chernev shared on the club's website.
Atanas Chernev will be the second Bulgarian in the Portuguese elite. Midfielder Andrian Kraev has been part of Casa Pia's squad since last summer.
The 23-year-old defender has played in 103 games for the "Canaries", scoring three goals.
