Europe is alarmed by US President Donald Trump's silent reaction to the drone incident in Poland, Reuters reported, citing European diplomats.
According to several diplomatic sources who requested anonymity, the reaction in Europe to Trump's actions in connection with this incident ranges from bewilderment to confusion and concern.
One of the agency's interlocutors also said that currently no one in NATO feels confident in the United States.
Washington's silence is simply deafening, the agency commented.
It is noted that in Europe Trump's silent reaction to the incident was interpreted as another manifestation of his policy of “America first“, aimed at making European allies take greater responsibility for their own security and increase their own spending on aid to Ukraine.
On the night of September 10, drones crossed the border of Poland. According to the country's Prime Minister Donald Tusk, a total of 19 drones were detected, a significant part of which came from Belarus.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the destruction of objects on Polish territory by Russian military forces was not planned, the targets were objects in western Ukraine.
