Comedian Jimmy Kimmel accused the MAGA movement of trying to score political points from the tragedy

The show of American comedian Jimmy Kimmel will be suspended indefinitely after his comments about the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Deadline reported.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be suspended indefinitely“, the publication quoted an ABC spokesperson.

Earlier on his show, Kimmel suggested that the activist's killer may have been a supporter of US President Donald Trump. The comedian also accused the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement of trying to score political points from the tragedy.

31-year-old Kirk was shot on September 10 during a speech at a university in Orem, Utah. He died in hospital from his wounds. The conservative activist was a supporter of US President Donald Trump.

Murder suspect Tyler James Robinson was arrested on the evening of 11 September. On 16 September he was formally charged with seven counts, the first of which is aggravated murder and the second is unlawful use of a firearm resulting in serious bodily harm. He is also charged with two counts of obstruction of justice. Robinson also faces two counts of witness tampering and one count of committing a violent crime in the presence of children.
