From 2026, the minimum wage in Albania will become 50,000 Albanian lek (515 euros), and the medium-term goal of the country's authorities is for the average wage to reach 1,000 euros in the next four years, announced the Albanian Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj, quoted by ATA, BTA reported.
During the conference “Stability and Development through Economy and Innovation“, which was held yesterday in Tirana, Ibrahimaj announced the planned increase in the minimum wage in Albania and stated that it is “a measure aimed at strengthening the economic well-being of Albanian citizens“.
Ibrahimaj also stressed that in the first 18 months after the introduction of the minimum wage increase, taxes will not be increased, in order for citizens and businesses in the country to operate in a “more stable financial climate“. According to Eurostat, the current minimum wage in Albania is 40,000 Albanian lek (412 euros).
