Kiev and London expand military cooperation

Joint artillery production planned

Ukraine and the United Kingdom have signed a document providing for expanded military cooperation, Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced.

„On the sidelines of the International Defense Industry Forum, a statement of intent was signed between the Secretary of State for Defense of the United Kingdom and the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on the LYRA program - a partnership in the field of combat technologies. The document sets out the intention of the countries to jointly develop and expand defense technologies. In particular, our countries agreed to create a working group that will coordinate joint projects within the framework of the program,“ he wrote on Telegram.

Shmighal indicated that joint artillery production is planned.

Earlier, the UK Ministry of Defense announced that the country would begin mass production of interceptor drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The drones in question were developed in Ukraine with the support of the UK.
