The EU's defense roadmap until 2030 is presented.

This will happen after the meeting of the College of Commissioners

High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kalas, the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy Henna Virkunen and the European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius will announce the EU's defense roadmap until 2030, BNR reported.

This will happen after the meeting of the College of Commissioners.

The wall of drones was discussed after the violation of the airspace of a number of member states, including Belgium, Poland, Romania, Denmark and Germany, and in the case of Poland and Romania it was proven that the drones were Russian.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told the European Parliament in Strasbourg that these are not accidental violations, but a consistent and growing campaign and the response must be firm. At this stage, the wall will contribute to the surveillance of the Eastern Flank, with the idea being to cover all the countries of the Community.

Yesterday, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas denied that there was any duplication of the role of the EU and NATO in terms of drone protection. She explained that the member states would jointly identify what needed to be done and would make joint procurements. According to her, the European Defense Agency could set the framework that would unite them. All this would be done in close cooperation with Ukraine, with drones also being purchased from there.

By 2030, the largest increase in defense spending in the history of the EU is expected - up to 800 billion euros.
