Europe is moving towards building a “war economy“, in order to prevail in the battle for raw materials against Russia through Ukraine. This was stated by Hungarian Defense Minister Kristof Szalai-Bobrovnicky, quoted by the Hungarian news agency MTI, BTA reports.
In a video published after the meeting of EU defense ministers, Szalai-Bobrovnicky stressed that he had emphasized to his colleagues the need for the European Union to coordinate its military actions with national defense strategies and NATO plans.
“The idea of continued financial and military support from the EU for Ukraine is invariably present in European plans. It will cost a lot of money and will mean taking money from taxpayers in the member states“, the Hungarian minister warned.
He added that any political force created and supported by Brussels would in effect “take the money of Hungarians and send it to Ukraine through the EU institutions“.
“This must stop. Hungary will not send money, weapons or troops to the war in Ukraine“, Szalai-Bobrovnytskyi stated categorically.
