Kirill Dmitriev, special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has discredited himself with policies that sabotage peace talks and destroy Western civilization.
„Dear Merz, you are not even in the game. "You have discredited yourself with warmongering, sabotaging peace, unrealistic proposals, the suicide of Western civilization, migration and stubborn stupidity," he wrote in X, commenting on a Der Spiegel report in which Merz allegedly said that Volodymyr Zelensky "must be extremely cautious in the coming days" with American negotiators.
Earlier, the German magazine Der Spiegel published excerpts from the transcript of a teleconference with European leaders, during which they criticized the United States and the American delegation in the Ukraine talks. According to the publication, Zelensky also participated in the talks that took place on Monday.
According to the media outlet, during the teleconference, EU leaders expressed concern that Europeans were not sitting at the negotiating table. They discussed the possibility of asking US President Donald Trump to send his special envoy Steven Witkoff to Brussels.
