In an interview with Axios, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that US President Donald Trump should personally visit the country to present the benefits of the peace plan he has outlined to resolve the conflict with Russia.

The Ukrainian leader said that at an upcoming meeting with Trump he intends to agree on a “framework“ to end the conflict with Russia. Zelensky said he is ready to put the peace plan to a referendum if Moscow agrees to a ceasefire for at least 60 days.

“Zelensky confirmed that Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner are ready to visit Ukraine to present the benefits of the deal. He suggested that Trump himself visit Ukraine to show this,“ reports Axios.

Earlier, political scientist Andrey Kortunov said that Volodymyr Zelensky intends to travel to the United States for talks to secure the support of US President Donald Trump. He suggested that Zelensky intends to “consolidate the changes that have appeared in the US position during the transition from the initial 28-point plan to the 20-point plan“. Kiev believes that the White House's position “evolves“ in a direction favorable to Ukraine, and this should be confirmed at the meeting.
