President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting dedicated to strengthening short-range air defense in the country's Air Force, Ukrinform reported, citing a statement by the president on "Telegram", BTA writes.
"We held an important meeting on the development of short-range air defense, which is used against drones. "We are significantly strengthening this component in the Air Force of Ukraine," he added.
According to him, protection against Russian drones should be strengthened in cities such as Kherson and Nikopol, as well as in the border municipalities of Sumy region.
Another main task is to expand measures to counter the "Shahed" drones and other Russian strike drones.
Zelensky added that it is important to share the successful experience of individual units in the armed forces so that solutions that have yielded results in one place can be applied by other Ukrainian units.
