Following a preliminary investigation, Libya's General Prosecutor's Office confirmed the death of Saif al-Islam, son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, from a gunshot wound.
“It was established that the victim was killed with a firearm“, the prosecutor's office said in a statement posted on its Facebook page.
It is noted that law enforcement agencies have begun searching for evidence, identifying suspects in the crime and preparing the necessary documents to launch a criminal investigation into the incident.
Last night, Libya al-Ahrar reported the death of Gaddafi's son. According to the channel, this happened in the western city of Zintan. The deceased's lawyer, Khaled al-Zaidi, confirmed his murder. According to sources close to the Gaddafi family on Al-Hadath TV, Saif al-Islam was fatally wounded while in the garden near his residence. There were four attackers, all of whom fled the scene.
