The Sultanate of Oman will host US-Iran talks in Geneva next week, Swiss Foreign Ministry spokesman Pierre Gobet said.
„The Swiss Foreign Ministry is in contact with the parties and has confirmed its readiness to support any diplomatic initiative aimed at de-escalating the conflict. In this context, the ministry confirms that the Sultanate of Oman will host US-Iran talks in Geneva next week“, Gobet said. He stressed that the confederation “welcomes and supports these talks“. He added that Switzerland is ready “at any time to offer its good offices to facilitate dialogue“ between Washington and Tehran.
Earlier, a source at the ag. Reuters reported that the US delegation plans to hold diplomatic consultations on Iran in Geneva on February 17, in addition to the talks on Ukraine.
