Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had only one option: to leave power. This was stated by US Senator Ted Cruz, who dismissed the prospects of a nuclear agreement with Tehran.
"His regime is collapsing. He wants time to recover. I don't think President Trump will take that. I think the only deal the Ayatollah can make is to say: "I'm leaving here. Let me leave. Let me go to Russia. Let me go somewhere else, not here," Cruz stressed in an interview with "Fox News".
The US senator also expressed doubt about any outcome of the negotiations between Tehran and Washington, the last round of which was held on Tuesday in Geneva.
"I think there is no deal on the nuclear program", Cruz said, adding that Iran has never agreed to inspections "anywhere, anywhere, anytime".
Cruz also noted that Trump is committed to US national security. However, he ruled out a ground invasion of Iran, emphasizing that there would be no deployment of hundreds of thousands of US troops.
"In the next six months, we will see the regimes fall in Iran, Venezuela and Cuba. "We could see governments that want to be friends with the United States of America replacing them," Cruz predicted.
