The conflict between the US and Iran will not last for several months. American officials expect the military action to last up to 1.5 months.

This was announced today by Kevin Hassett, head of the White House National Economic Council, TASS news agency reports.

''It will not last for months''. President (Donald) Trump's team informed us that it will last between four and six weeks, and everything started two weeks ago and we are ahead of schedule'', he said in an interview with Fox News.

On February 28, the US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran. Major Iranian cities, including Tehran, were hit. The White House justified the attack by citing missile and nuclear threats allegedly coming from Tehran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a large-scale retaliatory operation, attacking targets in Israel. US targets in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia were also hit. The strikes on Iran killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other key figures in the Islamic Republic's leadership.

A military base in Kuwait, where American and Italian servicemen are stationed, was attacked yesterday by drones.

The attack destroyed Italian drones that were stored there for operational missions. This was announced today by the Italian Ministry of Defense, LBC reports.

The country's Ministry of Defense explains that the ''Ali Al-Salem'' base in Kuwait, where American and Italian military personnel and equipment are located, was hit.

As a result of the attack, a weapons hangar was damaged, and the drones inside it were destroyed.

The Ministry of Defense did not specify the origin of the drone that hit the base.

We recall that yesterday two drones hit the ''Ahmed Al-Jaber'' air force base in Kuwait.

An Iranian drone hit an oil refinery in the industrial city of Ar Ruwais in Abu Dhabi. According to the authorities of the emirate, emergency services are extinguishing the fire that arose as a result of the attack, APA reports.

''The fire that broke out at one of the oil refineries in Ar Ruwais as a result of a drone strike has been brought under control. Fire crews are currently working to control the flames. There were no casualties'', said a statement from the press service of the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

On February 28, Iran began carrying out strikes, including against the UAE, after the United States and Israel launched a military operation against the Islamic Republic. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a large-scale retaliatory operation, attacking targets in Israel. American targets in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia were also hit.

The ongoing conflict has seriously threatened the energy infrastructure and maritime transport in the region. Oil prices have surged on global markets due to heightened security tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, prompting several countries to advise their citizens to leave the region.
