Germany hopes that the results of the elections in Hungary will allow for a "very quick" allocation of a 90 billion euro EU loan to Ukraine, Reuters reports, quoted by Focus.

"The results of the vote give hope that aid to Ukraine can be provided very quickly. The German government is working on this issue, so it is looking forward to the rapid formation of a government in Hungary," a representative of the German government said.

Ukraine cannot receive a 90 billion euro loan from the European Union, as the procedural decision to transfer the money is being blocked by Hungary. The Hungarian authorities have given Kiev an ultimatum - the money will be transferred only after the supply of Russian oil to Hungary via the "Družba" pipeline is resumed.

Sweden has openly declared its readiness to consider Article 7 of the EU Treaty - a mechanism for depriving Hungary of its voting rights. European Council President António Costa called Orbán's behavior "unacceptable".

In addition, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the EU "one way or another" would grant Ukraine a loan of 90 billion euros, despite Hungary's blocking.

The Hungarian party "Tisa" achieved a convincing victory in the parliamentary elections on April 12 - 138 out of 199 seats in parliament. Voter turnout reached almost 80% - a record for Hungary since the collapse of the socialist bloc.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban conceded defeat.
