An oil tanker that the French navy seized last month has left French waters after the ship's owner paid a fine, Reuters and TASS reported, citing French authorities, BTA reported.
The Mozambican-flagged tanker "Dena", which French President Emmanuel Macron has said belongs to Russia's "shadow fleet" - a network of ships that allows Moscow to export oil despite Western sanctions - was detained on March 20 by the French navy with the help of British allies.
The French Mediterranean prefecture and the Marseille prosecutor general did not disclose the amount of the fine paid by the company that owns the ship, Reuters noted.
The fine was imposed for "failure to provide evidence of the vessel's ownership (lack of flag)". It has already been paid and the tanker has left French territorial waters.
