According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), since the beginning of the naval blockade of Iran, the US military has diverted 29 ships traveling to Iranian ports or attempting to sail from the coast of the Islamic Republic.
“As part of the blockade against Iran, US forces have ordered 29 ships to turn back or return to port“, the command said in a post on X.
CENTCOM denied reports that several merchant ships have managed to bypass the blockade, calling the information inaccurate.
