Israeli security forces canceled the alert early this morning after Iran launched a major attack with drones and missiles last night, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
Army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that Tehran used about 200 drones and missiles during its unprecedented direct attack on Israel overnight, but most of them were shot down before reaching their targets.
A military base was slightly damaged and a young girl was injured in southern Israel. Air raid sirens sounded across the country.
Iran said it had aimed its missiles at Israel in response to an alleged Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy compound in Syria earlier this month that killed two brigadier generals and five other members of the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
