David Cameron will visit the ninth largest country in the world

In addition to Kazakhstan, the British Foreign Secretary will visit Mongolia and other Central Asian countries

„On 24-25 April 2024, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Community and Development of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland David Cameron will visit the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry announced.

According to the ministry, during his stay in Astana, David Cameron “will be received by the country's leadership and will hold negotiations with Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu”.

During the visit of the British minister, issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as current regional and international topics, are expected to be discussed.

After the visit, a number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed.

As indicated on the official website of the British Foreign Office, David Cameron will visit not only Kazakhstan, but also Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia. Before that, he had already visited Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

„Cameron will meet leaders from across the region to deepen cooperation on common issues, from counter-terrorism to climate change,” Britain's Foreign Office said on its official website.

Cameron also plans to expand opportunities for British business and will announce £50m of funding over the next 3 years to support the sovereignty and independence of countries in the region.

Cameron will announce a new British Council initiative to promote the English language in Central Asian countries.
