There is " opportunity" the G-7 countries to support Ukraine's military efforts related to confiscated Russian assets, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in an interview with "Sky News" television, BTA reports.

G-7 finance ministers are meeting for a three-day meeting on May 23-25, and the financing of Ukraine will be among the leading topics, which also include relations with China and others.

There is a common concern between Europe and the US about the economic difficulties caused by China, Yellen also said in the interview. "They focus directly on large quantities of Chinese-made goods in areas of the "green" economy, such as electric cars and solar panels flooding Western markets at low prices". This is possible only in the state aid regime, she added.

The United States will not ask other G7 countries to impose tariffs on China that Washington has imposed, but hopes that, along with other developed countries, they will be able to speak with one voice to Beijing, the finance minister of China said today. US in a separate statement to reporters.

"All I am suggesting is that given that many countries share this concern, it is stronger to communicate with China as a group," Yellen also said.

She added that at the moment there are no discussions in her ministry about sanctions against Israel against the background of the war that is taking place in the Gaza Strip.
