Three U.S. service members were injured near the temporary port near the Gaza Strip

Three U.S. service members, including one on a ship at sea, were injured while performing non-combat tasks within the the operation to build and operate the US-built temporary port near the Gaza Strip for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population.

This was announced yesterday by Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, deputy commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), quoted by Reuters and BTA.

According to Cooper, two of the cases were minor and included a sprained ankle and a minor back injury. However, he refused to give journalists more details about the third injury.

One of the injured servicemen was airlifted to a local hospital, Reuters notes.
