Egypt resumes humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza by air

Two hundred trucks have begun entering the enclave through the Kerem Shalom border crossing

Egyptian Air Force in coalition with other countries resumed today the airdrop of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian army announced, quoted by "Al Ahram" and BTA.

Earlier today, TV “Al Kahera News” reported that two hundred trucks, each loaded with between 15 and 20 tons of aid, had begun entering the enclave through the “Kerem Shalom” border crossing. In Palestinian territory, the shipment will be accepted by the UN.

On Friday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his American counterpart, Joe Biden, agreed that aid to Gaza should temporarily go through Kerem Shalom until a legal mechanism is found to open the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing.
