The Turkish president today sharply criticized Israel for the weekend attack on Rafah , which was previously designated as a “safe zone". This was reported by the Anatolian Agency (AA) to BTA according to the agreement on the exchange of information between the two agencies.

„Sunday's attack on Rafah, carried out following the order of the International Court of Justice, revealed the insidious and bloody nature of the terror state,”, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a video address to lawyers in Istanbul, referring to Israel and the International Court of Justice order to stop the bloodshed.

Erdogan also attacked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying: “In their fight, Netanyahu and his assassination network are trying to expand their power by killing people as they fail to defeat the Palestinian resistance.

„Netanyahu will not be able to escape the curse like (former Yugoslav leader Slobodan) Milosevic, (genocide-convicted Bosnian Serb politician Radovan) Karadzic and (the late German dictator Adolf) Hitler, whom he imitates,”, Erdogan also said.

He also stressed that Turkey will do “everything in its power to ensure that these (Israeli) barbarians are brought to justice for the crimes they have committed”.

At least 35 people were killed and dozens injured in yesterday's Israeli attack on a camp for displaced Palestinians in Rafah.

The attack was carried out near the logistics base of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Tal al-Sultan, a press service in Gaza reported.

Israeli jets attacked several tents in the area, the press service said, adding that rockets and bombs were used.

Gaza's civil defense forces earlier said at least 100,000 displaced people were sheltering in the area targeted by the attack.
