Current US President Joe Biden has decided to withdraw from the November election after meeting with two of his closest advisers, Mike Donilon and Steve Ricchetti, CNN reports, citing sources.
According to the channel, advisers provided Biden with indisputable information that convinced him to abandon the battle for the post of head of state. As well as laying out grim fundraising statistics, councilors have said they see no chance of re-election.
It is noted that the surprise announcement of the withdrawal will create the appearance of a decision made on Biden's terms and save the president's image.
On July 21, Joe Biden announced that he was leaving the presidential race. He noted that it would be better for the Democratic Party and the country if he focused on fulfilling his duties as president until the end of his current term.
Later, the United States Election Commission received notification of the nomination of Vice President Kamala Harris as a presidential candidate.
