France's high-speed train traffic is gradually improving after the sabotage that took place on the night of Thursday-Friday, just hours before the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Paris, the world agencies reported, referring to the French state railways – the company SN SE EF.

Throughout the night, the company's engineers worked to repair the sections that were sabotaged. They replaced cables and carried out repair work in semaphore stations.

The sabotage caused chaos in France and forced the reduction of trains to neighboring countries such as Great Britain and Belgium.

Vandals attacked the lines connecting Paris to such cities as Lille in the north, Bordeaux in the west and Strasbourg in the east. The authorities foiled an attack on the Paris-Marseille line.

On the eastern high-speed axis, traffic returned to normal this morning at 6.30am local time. In the north, south and southwest directions, however, the high-speed lines are running an average of 7 of the planned 10 trains, with delays of one to two hours on average, the company SNSE said.

However, the company assures that all travel plans of the sports teams and other persons accredited for the Games will be carried out and their travel will be secured.
