A British national was convicted today of disorderly conduct during anti-immigrant protests in Britain last week, one of the first convictions since a wave of violence over the killing of three girls in northwest England, Reuters reported, citing from BTA.
Liverpool Crown Court sentenced 58-year-old Derek Drummond to three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to taking part in riot violence and assaulting an emergency team member by punching a police officer.
The sentence is the first to be handed down on charges of involvement in violence after the three girls were killed in a knife attack in the seaside town of Southport.
