Belarus is sending additional troops, air defense forces and aircraft to its border with Ukraine, the Associated Press reports, citing local media, as cited by Focus.
The reinforcements come a day after the head of state, Alexander Lukashenko, announced that he would deploy almost a third of the country's army along the border (the Belarusian army numbers about 60,000).
Lukashenko announced on Sunday that this was in response to the deployment of additional Ukrainian troops along the border. Ukraine does not comment on the information.
