The 27-year-old commander of one of the detachments of the 3rd Assault Brigade, Sergey Tyagii (nicknamed "Rambo") told about the battles with the Russian troops, as quoted by Focus.
In an interview with "Suspilne Chernivtsi" he noted that he had returned from Poland to join the defense of Ukraine. During the defense of Avdeevka, he was seriously injured, so he is now in the process of rehabilitation, but plans to return to service.
"In battle, the main thing is to accept the fact that you can't do anything against artillery. The only thing is to dig deeper and lie lower than everyone else. But during combat shooting, we must be as efficient and dexterous as possible – to show all the skills we have acquired during the training," explains the military man.
According to him, during a battle, the spirit of the fighters depends on the commanders. When servicemen occupy combat positions, the platoon commander or sergeant directs their actions.
"During the departure to Avdeevka, both were present. When I was a squad leader, I was in constant contact with the platoon leader. There are different settings for when, where the enemy comes from, and in what quantity. Mentally it was easier for me because I knew which sector to check, how many fighters to deploy there and with what weapon. It happened that the enemy would advance in groups of 4-5 people and then we used small arms. If the enemy is in the building - then an anti-tank grenade launcher. It's easier when the commander is on the line: adjusting the supply of ammunition and water, organizing the replacement of fighters," says Tyagii.
