Latvia has prepared the largest shipment of drones, in the amount of 1,400 units, for Ukraine, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds announced on the social network “X“, quoted by Ukrinform, quoted by BTA
„The largest batch of 1,400 drones from Latvian manufacturers is ready to be sent to Ukraine. This concludes the Ministry of Defense's order for more than 2,700 drones from the Latvian industry for Ukraine”, the minister said.
Latvia has provided 3,000 combat drones of various models to Ukraine, Spruds announced.
„Together with Latvian companies, we will continue to provide support until the victory of Ukraine”, the Minister of Defense stressed.
The drone coalition led by Latvia and the United Kingdom also includes Australia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany and Sweden. They have provided more than half a billion euros for drones to Ukraine.
The coalition is also working on the creation of a joint fund that will allow faster and more efficient use of funds for the production of drones.
Latvia's Ministry of Defense has allocated €20 million this year to the drone coalition, of which over €10 million is earmarked for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles from Latvian manufacturers.
