Washington expects to discuss “de-escalation“ at a meeting with Chinese representatives in Switzerland in the trade sector, but there is no talk yet of concluding a big deal.
This was announced by US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant.
“On Saturday and Sunday, we will agree on the subject of the negotiations. I think it is about de-escalation, not a big trade deal. But we need de-escalation before we can move forward,“ he said in an interview with Fox News.
The head of the Treasury Department added that the US wants “fair trade“ with China.
