Russian forward and captain of the Washington hockey club Alexander Ovechkin has been added to the lists of the Ukrainian site "Peacemaker".
It states that Ovechkin participated in international competitions to clean the reputation of Russia, justifying "aggression against Ukraine before a foreign audience". The hockey player encroached on the sovereignty of Ukraine and deliberately violated the state border of the country.
Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since 2005. He is the record holder for goals in the NHL regular seasons, and on April 6 of this year surpassed Canadian forward Wayne Gretzky in the all-time scoring list and now has 897 goals. In 2018, Washington, with Ovechkin in the lineup, won the only Stanley Cup in the club's history.
The website "Mirotvorets" was created in 2014. It contains personal data of people, including journalists, artists and politicians who visited Crimea, Donbas.
In Russia, access to the site is blocked by a court decision.
