Erdogan Praises Trump for Ceasefire Between Israel and Iran

The Two Presidents Talked in The Hague

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with US President Donald Trump in The Hague, where he arrived to participate in the NATO summit, the Turkish presidential office announced.

“Turkey-US relations, regional and global issues were discussed during the meeting. President Erdogan welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, achieved thanks to the efforts of the US president, and wished it to be permanent. He stressed the importance of close dialogue for a quick end to the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and a peaceful settlement of the war between Russia and Ukraine“, the office said in a statement.

It is also noted that “both leaders stressed the importance of taking measures to strengthen NATO's deterrent potential“. “President Erdogan stated that both countries have great potential in various fields, especially in energy and investment, and that developing cooperation, especially in the defense industry, will contribute to achieving the goal of $100 billion in total trade,“ the office said.
