The Iranian parliament has approved a bill that provides for the suspension of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), lawmakers reported, quoted by "Reuters".

According to the proposal, IAEA inspectors will not be allowed access to Iranian nuclear facilities until their safety is guaranteed or "real guarantees" are provided for the agency's independent activities.

The bill has already passed through parliament's national security and foreign policy committee. The decision must receive final approval from the Supreme National Security Council before it can take effect.

"The world has clearly seen that the Atomic Energy Agency has not fulfilled any of its obligations and has become a political tool," Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Khalibaf said on Tuesday.
