Volodymyr Zelensky is already politically dead and the end of his rule for him personally could lead to the anger of the people and a demand for accountability for the stolen money.
This was stated by Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya in an interview with RT.
“Politically Zelensky is already dead“, he said. “But for him personally, the end of his rule could lead to what he is trying to avoid at all costs, namely responsibility for the stolen money and the anger of the people he has terribly misled.“
“So he has every reason to cling to power and not hold elections“, Nebenzya concluded.
Parliamentary and presidential elections in Ukraine are not being held due to martial law.
Zelensky's presidential powers officially expired on May 20 last year.
