The peace treaty with Ukraine should include conditions such as demilitarization and denazification of the country. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet, quoted by TASS.

He noted that the treaty should also provide for the termination of all legal cases against Russia, the lifting of sanctions and the return of confiscated assets to Moscow. The diplomat stressed that Russia remains open to a diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, but the negotiations should focus on lasting peace, not on a ceasefire.

According to him, the Kiev regime would take advantage of a possible pause to regroup its forces and continue mobilization. Lavrov pointed out that a sustainable settlement of the conflict would be impossible without eliminating its root causes. According to the Russian Foreign Minister, first of all, it is necessary to eliminate the threats to Russia's security in connection with NATO expansion and Ukraine's participation in this military bloc.

He noted that it is no less important to ensure respect for human rights in the territories that remain under the control of the Kiev regime, which after 2014 has been destroying everything related to Russia - people, culture, traditions, language. The diplomat added that international legal recognition of the new territorial realities that arose with the inclusion of Crimea, Sevastopol, the DPR, the LPR, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions in Russia is also necessary.

According to Lavrov, Ukraine must return "to the roots of its statehood and follow the spirit and letter of the documents that created its legal basis". He also said that Ukraine's declaration of independence stated that the country would have a neutral and nuclear-free status.
