Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today that he has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, handing him the letter he sent to the Nobel Committee, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
“As we speak, he is restoring peace in one country after another, in one region after another“, Netanyahu told journalists at the start of an official dinner with Trump, organized by the White House.
The Israeli leader added that Israel is working together with the US to find countries that will give the Palestinians a better future.
Asked about the plans to resettle the Palestinians, Trump replied that he sees cooperation in this direction from Israel's neighbors countries.
Netanyahu added that Israel would make peace with those of its Palestinian neighbors who do not want to destroy it, but "reserves the sovereign right to defend its security."
Asked what he thought about regime change in Iran, he said that it was up to the Iranians themselves.
