US President Donald Trump marks 6 months in office today, summarize American media outlets, including “Fox News“, “The Hill“, “News Nation“ and “Los Angeles Times“, as well as the Italian agency ANSA, BTA writes.

Trump himself summarized his achievements in this six months with a post on the social network “Truth Social“.

“Today marks 6 months into my second term, considered one of the most significant periods for any president,“ Trump emphasizes. He adds that, in other words, his administration has done many great things, including ending various wars in countries not affiliated with the United States. “Six months is not a long time for a major country to rise. A year ago, we were dead, with no hope of rising. "Today we are the most respected country in the world," Trump added, also quoted by the Italian agency ANSA.

In six months in power, Trump has visited 14 American states and 7 foreign countries, with a total of 49 trips, American media noted.

Trump also met with 25 foreign leaders at the White House, including several times with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

In six months in power, Trump signed 165 presidential decrees and held six meetings of his government.

Meanwhile, Trump said that he would help Afghans evacuated to the UAE after the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

In a post on his social network "Truth Social" Trump shared a link to an article about the plight of these refugees and wrote that he "will try to save them and will start doing so now."

Republican Trump, who has been an outspoken critic of high immigration levels in the United States, suspended refugee admissions as soon as he took office in January. In April, his administration also suspended temporary protection from deportation for thousands of Afghans in the United States.

In 2021, after the fall of the US-backed government in Kabul and the Taliban took power, the UAE, a close US security ally, temporarily took in thousands of evacuees. In 2022, Canada agreed to take in about 1,000 of them at the request of the US. It is unclear how many are still in the UAE.

Meanwhile, since the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, the administration of President Joe Biden has brought nearly 200,000 Afghans to the United States. They include family members of US service members of Afghan origin, children who have been reunited with their parents, relatives of previously accepted refugees, and tens of thousands of Afghans who worked for the US government during the 20-year war.
