Trump: Kiev received 350 billion from Biden, I don't think it was all spent on weapons. We'll find out someday

Washington may draw conclusions about progress in resolving the Ukrainian crisis before the 50-day deadline set by the US President

The Joe Biden administration has provided Ukraine with significant funds to purchase weapons, but it is unlikely that Kiev has spent all of this money for these purposes. This was stated by US leader Donald Trump at a meeting with Republican lawmakers at the White House.

„Biden gave $350 billion in cash or in military equipment. It was assumed that the Ukrainians would buy their own equipment. But I have a feeling that they did not spend every dollar on equipment“, emphasized the head of the Washington administration. Speaking about the US financial and military assistance to Ukraine under Biden, Trump noted: “I think someday we will want to know about it.“

As the US president stated, in the future “European countries will essentially buy“ American weapons and then transfer them to Ukraine “or somewhere else“. “They will be able to defend themselves and we will no longer pay for it“, Trump emphasized, speaking about the Ukrainian side. “I think this is very important.“

Washington can draw conclusions about the progress in resolving the Ukrainian crisis before the 50-day deadline set by US President Donald Trump. This was stated by the head of the press service of the State Department Tammy Bruce at a regular briefing for journalists.

She did not give a direct answer to the question of whether the United States is ready to draw any conclusions a week after Trump announced his readiness to introduce import tariffs of approximately 100% against the Russian Federation and its trading partners if Moscow and Washington do not reach an agreement on a settlement in Ukraine within 50 days.

“When the president sets a time frame, then we are talking about the framework of that time frame“, Bruce said.

“If there are meaningful negotiations and the process is moving, things can change quickly. Two days after a time frame is set, everything can change because of the negotiations“, Bruce continued. According to her, “there is no conversation“ for a fixed date by which, according to the US position, the crisis should be resolved.

On July 14, Trump announced that he would continue to transfer weapons and military equipment to Kiev if Europe paid for such supplies, and NATO would coordinate this process. The president said that the US would impose import tariffs of approximately 100% on Russia and its trading partners if Moscow and Washington did not reach an agreement to resolve the conflict in Ukraine within 50 days. US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant later specified that the US would call on its European allies to follow Washington's example if it introduced 100% tariffs on buyers of Russian oil.
