North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has sent condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin over a plane crash in the Russian Far East, Reuters reported, citing a statement from North Korea's state-run KCNA news agency.

A Russian An-24 passenger plane with 48 people on board crashed in the Amur region bordering China on Tuesday. There were no survivors, local authorities said. All 48 people on board were killed.

The Angara airline plane was flying from Khabarovsk via Blagoveshchensk to Tynda in the Amur Region.

The plane's black boxes have already been recovered.
