Magnitude 4.3 earthquake shakes Turkish city of Konya

No reports of casualties or damage; authorities assure that the situation is under control

An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was registered this morning in Turkey. According to data published on the website of the Regional Directorate for Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD), the tremor was recorded at 6:40 a.m., and its epicenter was in the area of the city of Konya, BTA reports.

There are currently no reports of casualties or material damage.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya assured the public that the institutions responded promptly.

„Civil Protection teams and other responsible institutions were sent to the scene. "No problems have been identified," Yerlikaya wrote on her Facebook profile.
